Adventures in XNA Posing Entry 35: 2013 Finale

Welcome to a late but still special edition. With this entry, its the final one for 2013 and this is more of a short reflection on my first year (or half a year if we were to be technical) of using XNAlara. So without further delay, here's how its gone down for me.

                                                           First discovery

As I sat in the hospital room visiting my dad after he was recovering from surgery, I was looking at some pictures on deviantart when suddenly, I came across a picture that used a in-game model from Tomb Raider ("The Angel Of Darkness" if I recall) and it caught my attention. It was the first time I saw an in-game used on something outside a game magazine, a promotion or the actual game. So I went searching around for how to do that and ended up finding a program called "XNALara". After coming home and downloading it, I wasn't familiar with this "XNA framework" so the first few attempts at activating it were unsuccessful. Once I got familiar with it, that's when it worked and I started messing around with the default models in it and of course from it, came this blog that I figured I'd use as I would rather not waste it just because I didn't need it for class anymore. So from default Tomb Raider models to Models from Mortal Kombat and Tekken, its been an interesting time with this program. I've learned so much and found so much. Its been so much fun as I've always wanted to do this sort of thing and Source Film Maker was originally going to be the means in which I would do this with until I found out I didn't have the computer capable to run it.

So for the final time in 2013, that's it for me. Its been fun, frustraiting, trying and interesting. As I find more and more desired models, I'll continue to make more pictures and post them here and finally start using my deviantart more regularly (because its been a while since I've posted any updates on that thing.).  Hope you all have a Happy New Year.

Adventures In XNA Posing Entry 34: Christmas Edition

Welcome to a very special edition of Adventures in XNA Posing. This week, more stuff I have acquired to show off to you and I have something huge for the Winter Wear of the Week. Without further ado, lets get on it.

BSAA Chopper (Resident Evil 6)

Another interesting model found from Resident Evil 6 (which I normally avoid, not because I hate it but because a lot of the models or locations are dark and I'm not going for anything dark usually). While this doesn't have rotating blades, it does have sliding doors (which is good enough for me) so it'll do nicely.

                                                                           Jacht

Here we have a Jacht (which I think is supposed to be spelled Yacht but given the location of  its maker, I'm guessing its a language thing). Very good model despite there being no movable bones that I see and as seen from the pictures, some very great details. Now if I can find some sea, this might end up in some spring or summer pictures I do.

Pizza Boxes

Usually, I would find the pizza boxes open or closed (none of which having bones and never having an open version of the box). Thankfully, I've come across this set which includes both open and closed as well as empty and full. This will be very good now that I don't just have one box and therefore I'm no longer confined to one scene.

Playstation 4

Given the release of this just a month ago, I was surprised to see how quickly someone made this model and having looked up close at one, this is very much spot on. This will make for some funny pictures in the future.

Xbox One (with Kinect 2)

Another surprise model to find and what better then the product competing with the Playstation 4, the Xbox One. This comes along with the Kinect (like the real one does funny enough). It too is quite well done and accurate with the real thing. Just as with the PS4, it'll be interesting and make for funny pictures.

Winter Wear Of the Week

I'll admit that neither of these pics are of my making (both of these are created by BoobsonX), but I felt these were quite appropriate this week and they look great. It would be foolish of me to just choose one and I know I'm incapable of picking one from either of these packs (and kinda lazy) so henceforth, I select all of them for today's winter wear of the week.

So that's it for this week, I hope many of you viewing this have a good Christmas. The most important and best present to have overall is the love and appreciation from your friends and family because you'll never find any of those on Amazon, ebay or any store, only in your hearts. See you next time.

Adventures In XNA Posing Entry 33: More stuff even when times have been tough

Hello everyone and welcome. This time around is packed with new items I've gotten as well as this week's Winter wear. So lets get this started:

Pizza Pack

Got this nice pizza pack, always wanted to have one in a box and this ended up being a good deal.

RE6 Helicopter

Another new helicopter to the collection but this time, one with movable bones. This will compliment the one I've used with another character.

Town

Found this excellent Town model. Not only are the buildings the best I've come across but its another choice for a snow covered town, which adds some variety for winter shots.

And now its time for:

Winter Wear Of The Week: Anna Williams Zebra (TTT2)

Today's recipient is another character from Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Anna Williams. Sporting not a jacket and pants set, but a full suit complete with a fur hat. While having the back out and not sleeves is abit strange given the temperature, it does have some sass and flair (even if its abit short on coverage)

That's it for this week, GT6 didn't grasp hold of me as I thought (but that was because I was more concerned with a Family member). I've gotten so many new things that I still have plenty to share for next week so expect an even more packed one. See you next time.

Adventures In XNA Posing Entry 32: Fresh new gear for that time of the year

Welcome to a more chilly, afternoon edition of Adventures In XNA Posing. As many know by now, Gran Turismo 6 came out last week (to a huge reception). With the game being out and having not done some custom XNA work in a while, I decided to put together a GT6 themed set for various characthers. The first two characthers to get some GT6 swag treatment is Lara and Sam from Tomb Raider. These two easily came to mind when I went looking for "believable" clothing and so I instantly jumped at the chance to make them. Here's some pictures featuring  the gear:

TR GT6 Warm Weather Wear

For the warm weather clothes, we have Lara with a Sky blue Tank top with the GT6 Logo on the front while Sam sports a darker Blue T with GT logos on the front and back. Both finished with black pants sporting "Gran Turismo" on the Right pant leg and the 15 logo on the Left pant leg.

TR GT6 Winter Wear

Going from the warm weather to the current winter weather, the girls now sport some torso coverage as Lara sports a light blue sweater emblazoned with the 15th Anniversary logo down the sleeves while Sam sports a darker blue Jacket with GT logos on both sides of the front, sleeves and back. Both still sporting the black 15th Anniversary pants.

And now, its time for today's Winter Wear of the week:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Slim Bob GT6 full set

This's week's honor goes to Slim Bob and his GT6 gear, the first to have both matching cloth material and color matching as well. After finding a pic of a GT6 Windbreaker, I decided to take that a little further with this costume. All the appropriate GT logos strategically placed on the top and bottom make for a perfect set of clothes that perhaps should exist in real life.

That's it for this week, the amount of pictures were short but that's because most of the work was done in creating these costumes. I won't lie in that I'll have a hard time tearing myself away from GT6 to complete more pictures, but expect some more anyway and keep an eye out for the next Winter Wear Of The Week. See you next time.

Adventures In XNA Posing Entry 31: December Edition

Welcome to the regular morning entry of Adventures in XNA posing. Its the first day of December and that means a few things: Christmas is not too far away, as is New Years eve. Also, its really cold (at least where I am). Obviously with thanksgiving and all that mess, its meant not many pictures as said but for this time, I have two featuring a character in winter appropriate gear and for this month only, kicking off a segment called "Winter Wear of the Week":

                                                       Tombraider: Lara Winter Mod

At long last, I finally have an excuse to pull out this model. In honesty, it was abit of a tough decision between this and the Lab Coat mod. In the end, I decided this one was the best and somehow more authentic to something Lara would wear. Everything about this outfit just works, from the blue sweater to the boots, there's not one thing off about it.

That's it for this week. With a week that's a lot less holiday and more regular, I should be pumping out more pics next sunday. See you next time.

Adventures In XNA Posing Entry 30: Thanksgiving Edition (With a Special Message)

Welcome to a very late but enjoyable entry of Adventures in XNA Posing. With this week being a certain holiday, I of course couldn't resist the helping out and preparation as well as partaking in the meal itself so naturally, not a lot of pictures this week. I do however have one made but I have a something important to share before I do: Too many people spend most of the year doing no good by anyone and only think during the holidays is the time to do any good. That's not the way to celebrate the holidays, that's merely justifying your act and expecting something back. The best way to celebrate these holidays is to practice that goodwill all year. It might not be everyday or everyweek but doing good things is not a once a year deed, its a regular deed. Don't ever believe that's the way to celebrate. To be truly thankful is to be grateful not for the material possessions you acquired or the food that sits before you, but for the people that surround. It doesn't matter how big or how small, family or friends, they are the ones to be grateful for. As for me, I'm thankful that through the last three years of experiencing a loss in the family, I still have them with me. I'm grateful that even though my Dad has been through a lot and is still dealing with the loss of my mom, he is still here and is the same dad that taught me what I know. I'm grateful that my sisters are still with me.

Moral of the story: My thanks has always been and will always be for my family. For no matter what stage of my life, one constint has always been that I could depend on them to be there no matter who it was regardless and no matter what got in the middle, nothing could tear us apart. And that is what I am eternally grateful for.

So with that, that is it for this week's edition. It was more of a sharing rather then the usual but its all from the heart and I felt like sharing abit. I hope many of you have had a meaningful Thanksgiving. See you next time.

Adventures in XNA Posing Entry 29: Suiting up

Welcome to the Noon edition of Adventures In XNA Posing. Somehow, I've managed to actually get this posted between the morning and the Afternoon this time around. Still better then a last minute evening effort. Again, not many pictures as I've admittingly had my attention fixated on Championship weekend, but I still managed to get something so lets get to this week's focused effort:

                                                                    MGR Raiden Suit

As soon as I found this model, I had to download it. Not only is it Raiden looking far less cybernetic, but its stylish too. Will likely do something interesting with his story now that this has surfaced.

That's it for this week, again not much but since nothing major is happeneing next weekend, I should be back on it in time for the 30th entry. See you next time.

Adventures in XNA Posing Entry 28

Welcome to an afternoon edition of Adventures in XNA posing. Because I was so caught up in redoing my homework, I didn't get any pics done so the ones I post today are unfortunately last minute. With out further delay, here they are:

These are more of my first ever XNA pictures redone with the  Jun Kazama Model by BoobsonX.

That's it for this week, I apologize for not getting some worthwhile pictures. I will actually get some  good ones next weekend. See you next time.

Adventures in XNA Posing Entry 27: New Rides

Greetings and welcome to the first November entry of Adventures in XNA Posing. Due to my occupation with a request I'm doing for someone's cars as well as a new assignment (and the impending due date for work to be submitted for another grade), I wasn't left with as much time to do posing as I wanted. I did manage and this time, its with some new vehicles I downloaded as well as some shots for a continuation of a storyline I started. Any how here they are:

                                                                Jeeps (Resident Evil)

Found these and decided to download, further bolstering my vehicle collection. No bones on these models so can't really do any movement with these, but I'm seemingly limited on my options when it comes to these vehicles so that's about all I can do really.

                                                                JP Jeeps (Jurassic Park)

Saw these, not knowing what these "JP Jeeps" were but downloaded them anyway. It wasn't until I uploaded them that I found out that these are from Jurassic park. Despite that they too lack any movable parts, I'm glad to have them just for the sheer novelty factor.

So that's it for this time. If I manage to get all the important stuff out of the way, I should be able to do a ton of shots for next week and finally might actually get the attachments to finally start putting in some dialogue via captions. See you next week.
